Snoop Dogg Arrested in Heathrow Rumble

Rapper-actor-raconteur-filmmaker-linguist-Chrysler pitchman Snoop Dogg was arrested along with four (or five, depending upon accounts) associates at London's Heathrow Airport on the quaint British charges of "violent disorder and affray" and spent the night at a West London police station after a melee in the British Airways business lounge.

Snoop The 34-year-old rapper (born Calvin Broadus, Long Beach, California) was traveling with a contingent of up to 30 people from the U.S. to South Africa to perform in the People's Celebration extravaganza in Johannesburg tonight. The layover in London turned to pandemonium when Snoop's throng, most of whom were flying coach, tried to buffalo their way into the BA business lounge but were refused entry and became "difficult."

BA A BA spokesman said, "There was an incident involving a group of passengers at our lounge where some passengers were rude and abusive to our staff and that's something we do not tolerate."

A bit of a culture clash, fo' shizzle.

As many as 20 police with 10 dogs stormed on to the scene, which eventually included broken champagne and/or whiskey bottles, Snoop bellowing obscenities at any and all who would listen, and seven injured officers including one with a fractured hand. It is unclear whether the officers' arrival accelerated or decelerated the conflict.

A witness told The Mirror, "It was absolute chaos - there was broken glass everywhere and it looked like it was on the brink of turning really nasty. It wasn't clear what sparked it but Snoop was livid."

Scotland Yard reported, "Police were called at 6pm last night to reports of a disturbance involving 30 people in a business lounge at Terminal 1. The party was told that they would not be permitted to board their flight and officers then attempted to direct the group to baggage reclaim. A number of the group became abusive and pushed officers."

no - Snoop had the first class ticket and a couple of others did as well, but the other 27 did not and they wished to join the inner Snnop circle in the first class lounge. Hence the problem

What did u expect from thug rappers? I seriously don't see why ppl respect snoop so much, all he does is kiss Dre's a$$ all day long. His music aint even that good anymore. Stick with Nelly and the other guys who don't kiss nobody's a$$.

Anyways, you nigg*rz need to relax once in a while. Do you guys have represent even in your sleep? Slavery was hundreds of years ago, get over it already...That excuse doesn't cut it anymore fools.

hmm, interesting point: I'm not sure slavery was so much the problem as access to the bar

I've always thought that Dre and Snoop make a dynamite combo. Each get immeasurably better when they work together.

Slavery wasn't the problem at the bar but you know someone either mentioned it or wanted to say something like: You white mofo's slaved us for 400 years, we deserve access!

Our local South African paper the Sunday Tribune ran a piece on good ol Snoop, aah what a beautiful photograph, full colour, Snoop Dogg, who's music i will freely admit to not liking. My choice.
The caption told the tale of how SD got up on stage and asked the crowd for Durban poison (The name awarded to one of South Africa’s choice grade cannabis) and the crowd apparently was just all to willing to give it to him. He then went on to sing (and i use the term loosely) songs with such lyrical gems as 'F--- the police', apparently aimed at the lot in Heathrow. I am quite sure that the rest of the set glorified guns/girls/gold and gangsters..um gangsta's.
My question is, does my country, a country trying to heal itself from years of violence and oppression need this kind of 'encouragement'? The obvious answer is no. Obviously there is the free will to listen to whatever you want so the listener is just as responsible as the artist but personally I wish the rap industry would crawl back into the cesspool and America would flush it's collective musical toilet.

mmm I was at the Snoop concert last night and it was somewhat enjoyable, i think it's just the atmosphere of such a big group of people coming together and just being happy ( even if it's drug induced ). I will say one thing though, this man has absolutely no respect for women or the law. So I not only dont like his music but I also dont like what he stands for. On that note, Alex I couldnt have put what you said better myself, I 100% agree with what you say!

Thanks FWG. It's good to hear from someone that went to the gig. The complete debasement of women by this musical genre really worries me, but not as much as all the girls in the crowd that just stand there and listen or worse buy the cd's. They are paying to be called bitches and ho's and worse. As a guy i just don't get it. If he was singing the same tune about guys (hmmm apart from that being a dodge thought) i sure as heck would'nt go to his concert or buy his cd's. Imagine if all the women in the world never bought another rap cd, they'd soon sing something else.
ps No disrespect to you for being there.
