"To Hell With You" is the first single from SMG's newest, Influence. SMG has made it a habit to release "companion albums" instead of true singles. This CD clocks in at over 35 minutes, with three mixes of "To Hell With You," "Influence" from the album, an alternate version of "Clean" and two bonus tracks, "Fuck You" and "Miguel In The Cut."
From the landmark Sins Of The Flesh, to the present single, SMG's unique blend of heavy metal guitar, pounding bass beats and electronic synth will have you off your ass and moving. Not content to simply experiment, they mix the old with the new ideas to come up with a sound that is progressive, yet retroactive at the same time. They have managed to combine the history of SMG with a freshness you expect of a new release.
The Christ Analogue mix of "To Hell With YOu" is worth the price of the CD in and of itself, with its amped bass and drum lines and smooth synth work. The rest of the package is just cream once you hear that version, although there isn't a bad track here.
This single complements the album so perfectly, yet stands on its own without a problem. Definitely a good purchase.
You can get the single and all of SMG's releases direct from the band at Sistermachinegun.com or their record label at Positron! Records.

Nice to see SMS get exposure. I've been a fan for some time, along with Micronaut.
