Maria Mena has found her perfect match in the rushed "You're The Only One."
Giddy guitars open the single, setting a normal tone. In the first verse, Mena's boyfriend is goofing off as he tries to perform an ice-skating move on concrete. He ends up falling and having the wind knocked out of him. He totters around for a while, trying to get his balance back. She tells him it was a stupid thing to do. He chuckles, saying she likes to see him be clumsy. It's one of his many charms.
"Well I saw you with your hands above your head/Spinning around, trying not to look down/
But you did, and you fell, hard on the ground/Then you stumbled around for a good ten minutes/And I said I'd never seen anyone look so dumb before/And you laughed and said I still know how to turn you on though."
In the chorus, she says the he's the only person in her life who is able to comfort her after an intense nightmare. He also knows her better than she knows herself.
"You're the only one who/Drags me kicking and screaming through fast dreams/You're the only one who/Knows exactly what I mean."
In the second verse, she mentions that he accepts her flaws. She forgets to tell him important things sometimes. She had gotten scar from wrestling with her one of her guy friends. He didn't like that one of her friends hurt her. However, she was expecting him to be cool about it. He's the one person who knows how to deal with her complaining and self-esteem issues. He's also a wonderful kisser, which she is knows her boyfriend is proud of being.
"And I probably forgot to tell you this/Like that time when I forgot to tell you about the scar/Remember how uncomfortable that made you feel?/See you're not what I expected/But you're the only one who knows how to handle me/And you're such a great kisser and I know that you agree."
The chorus is sung again.
A brief ordinary guitar solo is next. It segues into the bridge. In it, she apologizes for calling his penis small. She was only kidding but he thought she was serious. She likes to put him down every once in a while. She wants him to have low self-confidence like that she does so he will stay. If she compliments him too much, he may realize he could better.
"I hope you can forgive me for that time/When I put my hand between your legs/And said it was small/'Cause it's really not at all/I guess there's just a part of me that likes to bring you down/Just to keep you around/'Cause the day that you realize how amazing you are/
You're gonna leave me."
In the second chorus, she says the he's the only boyfriend she's had who's taken care of her. There's been times when they've gone to a party and she got so drunk, she had to vomit. He was willing to be in the bathroom with her and get some water if she needed it.

Holds my hair back when I'm drunk and get sick/You're the only one who/Knows exactly what I mean."
The first chorus is sung again.

In the "You're The Only One," she admits her flaws. But she's an unsympathetic person. Mena is a high-maintenance, insecure girl. It takes a lot of nerve to insult her boyfriend to purposely make him feel bad about himself. She wants him to think he can't do any better. However, he can and she knows it. It's quite psychologically twisted.
