  I love Kelly. I am so facinated with her voice. I named my little girl Kelly because I love her and I thought that would be a pretty name.

  Yeah ok basically im not gonna droan on like other ppl did (sry;) im gonna say wat im saying but make it short and sweet. I agree with everyone about how its written about her parents divorce and she was kinda talking bout her dad in the beginning but then she moves on to say how her mom was not noticing how Kelly felt she was preoccupied with her problems. like it says / u never thought of anyone else you just saw your pain/
  
  so really shes blaming both her parents

  Before I watched the video and read this review I just enjoyed it as a catchy angsty pop song. But now I've seen it and understand that it's not about some guy but about parents- the tears were streaming down my face as I felt the song hit me on an amotional level.

  this song is truly great and kelly inspires me. i am a great singer and got in my talent show by singing but this year i want to make the talent show again but instead of country girl shania twain i am going for kelly clarkson and hopefully this time i get 1st of 15 thats if i get thank you kelly and you don't know but i am 12 and my new dream is to meet and sing with you

  I think you are all wrong (but maybe I am)
  I think 'you' in 'because of you' is refering to her mother not her father. she is upset at the way her mother reacted to her father leaving, that she couldnt cope and fell into depression. I agree that she is upset because her mother didnt aknoweldge that she was hurting too. But mostly I think the song is about how kelly is careful not to get hurt so she doesnt end up the same way, and she is scared of not being able to cope like her mother.

  Kelly Clarkson has an amazing voice. I am a huge fan of all her work. She has a voice that you feel as you listen to her music. Breakaway is a spectacular album. She is proving that she is a voice that will be heard for years to come.

  This is ironic. Because just about every line that was interpreted of Kelly's life described in this song, is and was exactly like my life. I went through the same things, and felt the same exact way. I can relate to this song so much, it's almost a song of my life..

  what i don't get is why so much horrible dark feelings toward a parent...? I think that's become everyone's "easy out" for everything. "My parents did this and didn't do that and acted like this...it screwed me up for life - I HATE THEM."
