Satanic murder in Toledo?

"The Toledo Diocese is taking another look at a woman's previously dismissed claims of satanic sexual abuse by Roman Catholic priests now that one of the clergymen has been charged with the 'ritualistic' slaying of a nun 24 years ago. The Rev. Gerald Robinson was arrested last week on charges of strangling and stabbing Sister Margaret Ann Pahl, 71, about 30 times during Easter weekend 1980. Her body,
covered by an altar cloth and surrounded by burning candles, was found in a hospital chapel." (04/29/04)

Wonder if the Rev. Robinson is fan of Euronymous, Mayhem and the rest of the Norwegian Black Metal scene?

As you would expect Pagan Prattle all over this story.

Satanic cults are urban myths, and anyone who thinks otherwise is entering into the very mindset that caused the senseless hanging/crushing/murder of innocent people during the Salem Witch Trials.

I close my closet at night before I go to bed, doesn't mean I truly believe in the existence of a boogeyman. Why not blame organized religion, which is the true culprit here?

And a cult isn't considered a form of organized religion?

It appears the name "simplicity" fits....

A cult is somebody else's organized religion.

Way to go in answering my valid question and not insulting me Chris. [end sarcasm]

Regardless of what you think of my intelligence, a cult is an organized religion, although an organized religion may not necessarily be a cult. I think you are over"simplifying" the situation by blaming it on the larger entity.

I don't really see the validity in your earlier question.....We are not discussing the definition of "cult." What we are discussing is the urge by acceptable organized religions - Baptists, Catholics - to jump on the Satanic Cult bandwagon everytime some religious freako commits a crime. Rather than say, "Hmmmmm, this Priest has a lot of pent up frustrations, not to mention he's a complete psycho, and a lot of that played out in the murder of a nun."

No, rather than accept reality, which is shades of fucking gray, it's much easier to blame it on the boogeyman, excuse me, Satanic Cults......They're everywhere...Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!

Let's create a police task force and waste a lot of good money searching for the boogeyman. I say hire the Ghostbusters, at least then we'll get a good laugh out of the wasted tax dollars......

You are blaming it on organized religion like they encourage these ritualistic activities. Also, Robinson was not the sole participant in these ritualistic activities, so your argument that it was some (lone) psychotic priest is null. Rather it was a group of priests, which by definition (yes I'm bringing up the definition again because it's necessary) is a cult. Therefore, cults exist and aren't just some sort of figment of our imaginations. However, whether or not if it's Satanic is up to interpretation.

Just because a person voluntarily or involuntarily takes part in a "satanic cult ritual," that does not mean it the person's actions (nor the cult's) actually have any kind of spiritual power. I can put on my mouse ears and sing disney songs, even among a group of cohorts doing the same, but that doesn't make us actual "mousekateers."

Whoever of you said satanic cults do not exist, either are hiding something or have NO IDEA of what your talking about. In 30 years with the NYPD i have been involved in NUMEROUS satanic crimes including many ritual killins, along with other occult crimes from many so called self styled satanists. Kid yourself all you want but stop trying to convince everyone else. You got no clue at all

Agreed NYPDTIM, you'd be stupid to believe that satanic cults / the occult does not exist.

Ever notice that those who attack ritual crimes usually resort to making ad homonym attacks and try to throw in “witch hunt” and “satanic panic” as often as possible? As if to say, ”sleep, sleep, don’t awake from your fantasy world.” No. We can believe that some guy in a cave on dialysis can pull off 9/11 through a conspiracy. But then marginalize and ridicule any conspiracy that is not suitable to what we desire to believe. You can lay a mountain of proof in front of those who have a vested interest in non-belief and those who choose not to believe and they will still deny the truth. Denialists cling to their comfort of disbelief. It’s those with the vested interests that are the loudest in their pretense and need to be watched most carefully.
