Rourke and Marr of the Smiths to perform for charity. For the first time since the Smiths split in 1987 the two will rejoin to play on January 28th. The show’s, Manchester v. Cancer, lineup is being overseen by Rourke and will include Badly Drawn Boy, The Doves, and New Order. Tickets go on sale on Saturday.

Bloggers to cover Iraqi elections. Pajamas media announced today that it will have bloggers in eight Iraqi problems and around-the-clock coverage of the upcoming elections. The provinces are to include Najaf and Mosul. The bloggers are going to compensated for their time. They hope to include photographs and video along with the stories as part of their coverage.

Smashing Pumpkins Tribute to come out on CD. The Killer in Me: A Tribute to the Smashing Pumpkins which was released digitally last month will be out as a CD on January 31st. The CD includes tributes from Armor for Sleep, A Thorn for Every Heart, Poison the Well and Roses are Red among others.
