Roger Daltrey turns 60

Born March 1, 1944, Roger Daltrey turns 60 today. "Hope I die before I get old." Oops, too late! Happy birthday, old man.

Depending on how you're categorizing such things, Daltrey is perhaps the greatest hard rock singer ever. His climactic scream in "Won't Get Fooled Again" alone qualifies him for a place in history.

Everybody knows his work with the Who. Without Pete's songs, his solo records mostly aren't that interesting. One little solo tidbit well worth looking up, however, is the song "Free Me," from the McVicar soundtrack. [Not sure who wrote it.] It's worthy of the Who.

Just pointing out the obvious, isn't that "Hope I die before I get old?" Typos can mess up the meaning of lyrics for readers who might be unfamiliar with the tune, although everyone here is probably old enough to recognize the song.
