The Rasmus hail from the same part of the world as goth-popsters HIM and sew the same kind of music to the masses. Even though this band is Finnish, they do manage slightly more upbeat pop-rock. Surprisingly its rather good and has made into the UK charts with a selection of catchy goth-tinged rock, with some passiing resemblance to Evanescene (without the rap). From the opening track 'First Day of my Life' through 'The Shadows' to the slow-burn of 'Funeral Song', you get some rather good rock. Lead singer Lauri Ylonen has a good range and avoiding the whingeing that pervades much of mainstream rocks these days. A pleasurable find, for me, and a band that deserves all the kudos they are getting currently. This is mainstream melodic rock at its best. The UK edition has three additional tracks, making this good value for money as well. Excellent stuff...and I bet a treat live.

I work at a big name store that feels they need to play rasmus all day every day. Lemme tell ya, not quite as good as you may think.....

I think the album is grate i love it there older album into is also worth a look dead letters is a lot darker and more gothic than there other albums but exellent all the same plus Lauri's hot which is an added bonus

hi yeh i agree....the older albus of the rasmus r amazing dead letters is good but i fink my fav. album is playboys..its so gd an i love jailer and ragatip !!! iv been tring for weeks to find into but i cant find it anywhere !!! that realy pisses me off!! lol

i love the album to bits and i've listened to it nearly every day since i got it. And i know people think that the rasmus are a rip off of HIM but they're not cos their music is unique and their songs are really meaningful and besides they're better than HIM anyway. The album kicks ass!!!

The Rasmus are grand. Unfortunately, they don't get enough recognition here in Canada... Except for Quebec... And I'm still confused on how people can say they are a HIM rip-off... They're as much HIM as they are Nightwish... And that is my 2 cents!

i love the rasmus so much and i just gotta say how hot Lauri is! yummy. i really like him. but has anyone else noticed how many pics there are of him and aki getting close?if you go on google and search through it i am concerned at all of the hugging.are they more than friends? i hope not because Lauri is so so so hot and I love him.
