Rancid to Hit the UK

Punk legends Rancid have announced a UK tour. They will be supported by The Unseen. The tour will hit eight cities in the UK, including Exeter, Liverpool and Glasgow. The tour is set to begin in early November and will run until November 20th with a show in Brighton.

YouTube Makes Content Deals

YouTube has made three more deals for content to be posted on its website. The deals are with CBS, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and Universal Music Group. The deals will allow original content posted to the site to include artist’s music and videos. The deals were all made separately with some of them including the use of new technology to find and remove unauthorized content.

Tower Records to Close

Tower Records has been sold, with a majority of the company’s assets going to the Great American Group. Going out of business sales began over the weekend. It is expected that the process will take about six weeks, with around 3,000 employees losing their jobs. The auction that the icon’s assets were sold at lasted 29 hours.
