CMU have reported the demise of the seminal jam-band, Phish.
Trey Anastasio explained: "We love Phish and the Phish audience too much to allow it to drag on beyond the point of vibrancy."
He added that all the band agreed that: "Phish had run its course and that we should end it now while it's still on a high note. We realised that we were faced with the opportunity to graciously step away in unison, united in our friendship and our feelings of gratitude. It's been an amazing and incredible journey."
Of course, the fan-friendly band is not leaving their mourning hordes without a proper send-off.
The band will release their final album - 'Undermind' - on 15 Jun before embarking on a US tour.
Will the Maine Turnpike's finances ever recover from the loss of all of those Phish-heads heading to Loring (former Air Force base) for the band's frequent summer gigs.
