Phil Walden who founded the rock label Capricorn Records died on Sunday of lung cancer. Walden managed Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers. Widespread Panic, Cake, and 311 were among the bands that were at one time on Walden's label.
U.S. Could Make Complaint to the WTO Over Chinese Piracy
Although China has taken steps recently to combat piracy, the U.S. has stated that it still has concerns over piracy in China. It is believed that tighter reigns on counterfeiting and piracy in China could lead to increased U.S. exports. It is estimated that $250 billion in sales are lost every year to piracy.
Ten years after their last release, members of British band Take That have begun writing new material. In the 1990s the band scored a string of hits in the UK and abroad with songs written by Gary Barlow, their frontman. However, now the writing duties will be shared by the current members of the band.
