Following Robert Palmer's death in Paris on Friday after a sudden heart attack, his manager has confirmed that the singer will buried in the Swiss town that has been his home for the last fifteen years. Manager Nick Cater told reporters this weekend that Palmer's body had been released by the French authorities and will now be returned to Lugano in Switzerland. A post-mortem examination has been conducted though the cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Cater: "The body has been released and the French police are satisfied. The
cause of death is not on the certificate, but we will be told early next week. We have no reason to believe he died from anything other than a massive heart attack."
Commenting on Palmer's wish to be buried in Switzerland Cater added: "Robert
lived in Switzerland for the last 15 years, and that is where he wanted to be. He said it was the first home he ever had."

Robert Palmer died of a Myocardial Infraction and that is what is listed on his death certificate. Robert Palmer was diagnosed with Hypertension in 2002 and was being treated for that medical condition. Hypertension can lead to Heartattack and Stroke.
Robert Palmer was buried in London, England, not Lugano, Switzerland, at the request of his family. Mick Carter, Robert Palmer's manager, misreported Lugano, Switzerland, as Robert Palmer's burial site. The location of Robert Palmer's gravesite in London remains confidential, as per the wishes of the Palmer family.
Robert Palmer's girlfriend at the time of his death was Geraldine Edwards, the woman Almost Famous was written about. Geraldine was also good friends with and dated Eric Clapton, who came out to stay with Geraldine after Robert Palmer's death. He was truly a good friend to her in her time of need.
Prior to Robert Palmer's death, he was planning on relocating to Los Angeles with Geraldine Edwards. Mary Ambrose was announced initially as Robert Palmer's companion at the time of his death. That was a misreport by Mick Carter, which was legally rectified by the Palmer family by the agency of a Cease and Desist Order. Mary Ambrose was also legally prohibited from writing a book about Robert Palmer as well as giving interviews misrepresenting herself as his girlfriend. She was legally revealed to be his live-in housekeeper and personal assistant who was in residence with Robert Palmer as his employee from 2000 to 2003. Robert Palmer casually dated Mary Ambrose, but she was definitley was not his girlfriend. Robert Palmer dated Mary Ambrose on a casual basis from 2000 to 2003.
While in Robert Palmer's employ, Mary Ambrose had two sons, born in 2001 and 2002. Both were from men known to Robert Palmer. Mary Ambrose's first son, born in 2001, was fathered by Robert's manager, Mick Carter, and her second son, born in 2002, was fathered by a Swiss business associate of Robert Palmer's.
And on a final note, Mary Ambrose unsuccessfully sued the Estate of Robert Palmer for the full $54 million value of the Estate. Mary Ambrose did not prevail. Her case was dismissed by the French Probate Court. Mary Ambrose appealed the Probate Court's decision, but her Appeal was dismissed in mid-2004. Mary Ambrose inhertited a total of under $20,000.00 from the Estate of Robert Palmer.
The majority of Robert Palmer's Estate was inherited by Robert Palmer's five grown children from two marriages, including his Lugano mansion, which was sold as part of the Estate.

Sherry, I was Mike Ambrose's Personal Assistant since the 1970's. Mike Ambrose was Mary's father, who passed away on September 12, 2008. Mike advised me in May of 2005 that Mary had died in London, England. According to Mike, his daughter had committed suicide while staying at a hotel in London. I saw Sherry's question and am able to answer it. I was friends with a man named John Agostino who was friends with Mary Ambrose. Mary Ambrose worked for John and his wife Rae from 1996 to 2000 as their Au Pair in Del Mar, California. There was some confusion in the press about what Mary did for a living. She definintely worked for John and Rae and she was not a waitress in San Francisco. John and Rae hired Mary Ambrose when she was only nineteen years old in 1996. From what I understood Robert Palmer's girlfriend at the time of his death was Geraldine Edwards, the woman Almost Famous was written about. According to John, Mary Ambrose did work for Robert Palmer as his housekeeper and personal assistant and he sometimes dated her. But he also said that Mary dated a lot of people. The situation with Mary and Robert Palmer was not serious. John liked Mary and was not trying to put her down, he was just being truthful. John told me that Mary Ambrose died in 2005 in London, England. Apparently she had committed suicide in a London hotel room. John said she was distraught when she lost her court battle with the Estate of Robert Palmer and had become depressed. I'm sorry, I am not trying to be disrespectful to the dead, I am just relating what I have been told. Thanks.

I love robert palmer's music and I think he was GORGEOUS! However, it seems as far as women, he did not give a rip about any of them!I read all this stuff about people trying to split hairs about which girls should be classified as lovers, girlfriends or employees! He was having sex with all of them, dating all of them, etc. So it's like, give me a break! He got away with murder as far as the ladies! However, I can see why! As far as mary ambrose, I have read lengthy interviews where Robert stated he was obsessed with her prior to and at the time they were living together! She was living with him, getting a $5,000 a month allowance, having sex with him and waiting on him hand and foot! I know wives who do less for their husbands!If Mary would not be considered a girlfriend, then I must be ignorant of what the word,"girlfriend ," means! Help me out on this one folks!

Keep having fun with this. I will explain about Ll for you if you like. I have seen his or her comment's on other sites. He or she is alternately billing himself or herself as Ll, LL or Phylsdeal. Who knows why? I guess this person does not have a life. I personally don't think that waiting on a man had and foot denotes a superior relationship. I always thought being someone's best friend and equal was a lot better. And, $5,000.00 per month is not really a lot of money. I earn that amount of money as an Administrative Assistant. A man with Robert Palmer's money would have just given the woman credit cards and told her to go at it! Do you agree? I'm a student along with Phylsdeal. We were given an assignment in a class which included researching the careers of several artist, Robert Palmer was one of those artist. This assignment span the entire year. While researching we found someone leaving madeup stories such as the one found here. Some of the facts would change. For example in one story he has 5 children in another he has 3. Including the $5000.00 per month pay myth is something new. Phylsdeal found a blogger that said he started working with RP in the 1970's, so she asked if any of this was true. He did respond and cleared some things up, but this person(s) continues to put out half truths all while claming to be "a friend."
I have never met RP nor MA. Phylsdeal met the Ambrose family many years ago by visiting a grill that they use to work at, that is how we know the age this person is giving is wrong. What is the motivation? Who knows? It's just kind of annoying to us and the class when we see yet another nutty story posted. After finding out how talented and original Robert Palmer was, it is sad to see this rubbish attached to his name.

I do not mean to spread lies. I am just going on all that I have read! I found three different pictures of a woman, all identified as Mary Ambrose(two with Robert in them)! Also found an "Addicted to Love Video," with this same woman! 1995 video. Something else funny--the weatherman Mike Ambrose that people claim was Mary's father! Read up! This guy died in sept 2008 in San Diego, and EVERYBODY reported he NEVER married or had any children, and was reclusive and had severe anxiety attacks! In the video she looks to be in her 30's, but you never can tell! However, actions speak louder than words. Robert could have gotten rid of her anytime he wanted to, but he didn't!Also, I have read several times she was paid $5,000 a month as a housekeeper and personal ass. from 2000 to 2003. But who knows? The more I read, the more confused I get! Keep responding and tell me more!

Mike Ambrose was well liked and most certainly was married with two children, one of which was in fact Mary Ambrose, born on June 9, 1976. I am from San Diego, California and that is common knowledge about the late Mike Ambrose. People who experience anxiety attacks do not report the nightly news. Sorry. You quote "actions speak louder than words" and your actions indicate that you do not have the slightest idea of what you are talking about. Site your sources as to the Mary Ambrose pictures, or I and everybody else reading your blogs will assume that you have invented this information. I am sorry to inform you, but I was in fact friends with the man that Mary Ambrose worked for prior to working for Robert Palmer, which she did. The articles mentioning that are correct. Bethany Sloane's article is accurate, as well as Marianne's comment. I did meet Robert Palmer briefly, through my friend, John Agostino. Although we were never really friends I found him to be a gentleman. Marianne was right on about one person using several names to spread hostile messages to various websites. The young man doing this is John Agostino's son. He is in his twenties and has issues. One of them is that when Mary Ambrose started working for his family, he developed a major crush on her. He felt he was in love with Mary for a long time and his parents had to speak with him about this. John Agostino also saw his handiwork on the internet and he talked to him about it. He was concerned, naturally. He has told his son to please stop doing this, but I doubt he will. I am sorry but there is no "class" nor is there any assigment about Robert Palmer. There is only one troubled young man who needs to grow up. As for the Ambrose Grille comment, no such place ever existed. Mike Ambrose was a newsman, not a restauranteur. Thank you.

Lacebra, we have seen the articles about Mike Ambrose also, the newscaster, refered to as "Captin Mike." He past away single AND childless. From all reports Mary was born in Ohio and followed her sisters to CA. We are not sure if her father's name is Mike. I have also seen photos of her. Two from other sources and one from the blog LL wrote about. One might be from the mid-1990's short hair a little thinner, she was a curvy girl, sparkly blue eyes, very pretty. Once the class saw a picture of her we understood why RP wrote the song Simply Irresistible. Like you, SOME of us find her store facinating. You have to admit it is a great love story! Maybe not so much from the family's point of view and maybe that's why there's a fight over the will. The ruling changed some law in Switzerland but you would need a small legal team to figure it out. Also LL is only about the music of RP. He thinks it is disrespectful. I'm with you.

I think Phyl meant to say, story facinating. Just a word to Lacebra and everyone who are so into Mary Ambrose's life. Robert Palmer had a very private personal life. In the many interviews and articles I have read he always kept it short when asked about his family life. Yea, from our point of view it could make a really great story but the people involved are very real. While doing this "project" I often thought about his children, his mother, father, brother and sister-in-law, they seem to have been very close to him. They have to see this stuff. It just feels wrong to me when it veers off course, from the music. That's all.
