Noise Ratchet - Self-Titled EP

Noise Ratchet created quite a stir with their first label-backed debut release Till We Have Faces; in fact it was Seth’s number five pick for the Buzzgrinder top 5 lists for 2002. The new Self-Titled EP is sure to be on people’s play-lists for months.

When Losing Ends is the first track off the new record and here is what I jotted down on my always-handy sticky-paper: “Fast. Aggressive pop. The bass sounds great! Nice breakdowns. Powerful voice. Nice.” This could pretty much be applied to the entire CD. It’s filled with driving guitars and drums and thick bass lines that you can actually distinguish from the rest of the band!

If you own Till We Have Faces you will notice a redone version of A Way to the Heart that includes the entire band (and some great bgvs). Another note-worthy track is Desire, which has a guest spot with Jon Foreman from Switchfoot. Very nice release indeed!
