Nina Hagen on Tour

Thats right- the legendary German Punk chanteuse Nina Hagen saddles up again for a Westcoast tour-so far the only two dates announced are Vancouver B.C. Canada on January 14th at the Commodore Ballroom, and January 23rd at the Key Club Los Angeles. The Vancouver Show is her first appearance there in eighteen years! As for what to expect well it could be anything from Scary "Nunsexmonkrock" to "Big Band Explosion"... if you haven't heard Hagen's "Big Band Explosion" album yet then brace yourself, as the Teutonic Terror growls and snorts her way through classics like "Fever","Sugar Blues", and"I Want To Be Happy" if nothing else Hagen always succeeds in doing the exact opposite of what people expect of her. This is a rare opportunity to see one of the female Punk legends strut their Strudel in North America..you have been forewarned!

A shame her tour insn't coming through the Midwest. I'd pay to see her perform.

Does anyone remember: was it on Merv Griffin's or Mike Douglas' variety show that she appeared in, oh, '79 or '80? I remember seeing that show and thinking that she was a real hoot.

Now...if Kate Bush does return in 2005 as well, along with Nina Hagen re-emerging, we will be blessed!

Nina is the best living singer of our times. Her style will be studied by designers forever. She is beyond anything on this planet. A real creation.

Saw Nina's show at the Commadore last night; it was grrrrreat! Still in top form, she showed off her vocal prowness. Did a great cover of Nirvana's 'No Apology'. 3 encores. She also interacted with the audiance more than the first time I saw her there in the early 1980's. If you can see her, go!!

Good, she's still rocking. Bad, I missed her last concert. I'm an "old" fan from the 70s concerts in Munich where I took pictures as a budding photographer. I immediatly was drawn to her style and still like it (even I look like a granny now, just kidding).
It's great she became famous, it sucks I didn't. At least we share the same name and live both in California, so I might get a chance to see her one more time "Life" before I die.
