Looks like pretty thin gruel this week in new album releases. The appeal of the Smashing Pumpkins 99% eluded me, but Billy Corgan has his first proper solo album, The Future Embrace.
Other than that, Meshell Ndegeocello looks the most interesting to me, with her new Dance of the Infidel. Promising album title, at least.

A part of me would actually like to hear the Billy Corgan one. Hey, SP weren't so bad till after Siamese what ever it was.
They have a few good songs, but not many of the non hit ones are that memorable... Gish has a few
But that Melencholy orchestra stuff was so bad and so popular... kinda like ACDC and Metallica in the sense that they got big with their best music behind them.
And "Ghetto Bill" is a great name for a record :)

Maybe the garage beat stuff would be worth a listen...
And I noticed the offspring have a DUAL cd greatest hits.... I liked a few of their songs, but isn't that reaching a bit?

Another release for the week is "The Vanity Project." It is being billed as both a solo album by Barenaked Ladies' Steven Page and a collaboration with his friend Stephen Duffy.
I have contacted the publicity folks and am getting a copy to review. I am intrigued by this. I do like BNL... I wonder what Steven's music will sound like outside that band. Stay tuned.

Regarding the Billy Corgan, we (the office of LPJ) listened to it and we liked two songs out of 12 or 14, however many were on there, ouch...
A return of the original SP lineup, would truly kick ass and fulfill Rock's return...
Although James Iha has a good think with A Perfect Circle so it would have to be out of love of SP that he would return?

Maynard is going to be on a Tool cycle for a while now so Iha has some time if he wants to get back with SP.
