New album releases, week of 4-5-2005

Part of: New CDs

A couple of famous chicks have albums this week, not that their music is what either one is particularly known for. Famous rap hooker Faith Evans has a new album out this week, The First Lady. With Biggie and Tupac dead and no longer arguing or shooting over her or whatever, is there some less than obvious reason why anyone would care? It's starting out at #244 on Amazon, so it certainly ain't breaking any records out of the box.

Lisa Marie Presley puts out her second album this week, Now What. She apparently has big input from some gal what wrote some hits for Pink.

I don't know squat about what kind of music Fischerspooner makes, but their new Odyssey album has input from, among others, David Byrne, Madonna, and Susan Sontag.

Here's the complete list of this week's major new releases, courtesy AMG:

Unreformed hawkish Hoosier hillbilly Al Barger runs the still squeezin' down the psychodelic Kentucky moonshine at More Things. What with the paranoid religious visions, the Pentecostal music, visions of God and anarchy running amok and such, somebody …

At long last, a collect of Billie Holiday! I've been waiting and waiting, and it just seemed like there would never be *any* of them!
