What's with the greatest hits and live releases from early nineties alt-rock acts? There's been a string of 'em lately.
Collective Sould just had a greatest hits. Live just had a greatest hits. STP, Pearl Jam, REM, etc, all had recent greatest hits releases.

Mr. Benning, greatest-hits comps are what record companies live for. They're cheap to compile and produce since the music is already paid for, so they're basically just profit-makers. And if you didn't realize, 10 years after something first came out is when the whole nostalgia marketing starts aiming at those late-20-somethings who lived on this stuff as teens.

And Al, the Living Colour release is excellent. I've had it for a few months, as it's been available at Sony's Live From The Vaults, along with the Toad the Wet Sprocket and Soul Asylum releases.
