Music Review - Wayne Hancock - Tulsa - Page 2

Right from the opening song - same name as the album - man-o-live if my gal was here right now, her and I would be cutting us a rug, I tell ya! Oh and it just keeps going too, man, just the right mix - get my baby’s heart-a-racing with the swing only to bring her in close and tight with that slow two-steppy like sound on “Drinkin Blues,” and then dig that sound on “Gonna Be Flyin Tonight,” oh that’s a jitter-bug if I ever heard it!

Heck, I think you’re right Mr. - ole Hancock would be right at home comin’ through the radio back in them days. And yeah you’re right there too - we can’t get them good ole days back. What we can do is close our eyes, listen to Hancock singing his tunes, and we’re right there - you know what’s great? We got ole Wayne right here, right now! That’s right, this album Tulsa, you can go pick it up Oct. 10, brand spanking new. It’s gonna tear up the honky-tonk jukeboxes, I promise you! And speaking of honky-tonks, my cousin told me that Hancock is on the road right now promoting the living be-jebus out of this one. Man I sure would pay good money to see that. He comes anywhere near this town and I’m gonna beat-feet to see him!

Well buddy, I’m glad you stopped by. It was a good talking to ya. Thanks for entertaining an ole coot like me. Remember, get down to the record store Oct 10 and get you some of this, you won’t regret it!
