When renowned science fiction author Kevin J. Anderson sits down at his keyboard he transports us to whole new worlds created within his fertile imagination. They are clearly places that a lot of us want to visit as he has sold millions of books worldwide and has numerous critically acclaimed novels to his credit.
This success is largely due to his ability to project his creations into the reader’s imagination through the written word. Now he has taken it several steps further and brought his latest work alive through an ambitious musical project.
Teaming up with some of the finest talent within today’s progressive music world he has successfully taken this extraordinary work off the page and into the studio. The result is the creation of a powerful crossover project between science fiction writing and progressive rock.
Kevin J. Anderson’s latest fantasy novel Terra Incognita: The Edge Of The World has all the elements that make for a rich and epic read. He gives us the clash of two major religions and the death and destruction this particular holy war brings. We have the exploration of uncharted seas, and lovers separated by circumstance and distance. To add to the unfolding drama he also introduces sea monsters, messages in bottles, within a story of undying love.
His vision didn’t end there and along with Shawn Gordon, the head of Progrock Records, they have successfully taken the concept of the book and produced it as an album. The lyrics have been written by Anderson himself along with his wife Rebecca Moesta, also a science fiction writer. The music has been written by Erik Norlander of the Rocket Scientists.
To achieve this ambitious project they have drawn together a richly talented stellar cast of musical talent. The result is Roswell Six and together they have served up something very special indeed within progressive music circles, Terra Incognita: Beyond The Horizon.
Included on this epic voyage are vocalist Michael Sadler (formerly of Saga) who plays our hero Criston. He is joined by the exceptional vocal skills of Lana Lane who plays his love Adrea, and James LaBrie of Dream Theatre who appears as Soldan-Shah Omra the leader of the invading Uraba armies.
