Music Review: Renee and Jeremy - Sunny Christmas [EP]

Part of: Reviews in Brief

Indie children's music duo Renee and Jeremy have just released their first recording of Christmas music, Sunny Christmas. This is an EP featuring five traditional Christmas songs plus one original, the title tune.

With the exception of "Jingle Bells," the traditional songs here are not those aimed specifically at children. However, the renditions are so light and cheerful, they will charm children and adults alike. "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" features lots of harmonies and hand claps, sure to engage the interest of even the youngest members of the family. "Deck the Halls" has lovely acoustic guitar and soft percussion, giving it a sweet, dreamy feel. The same can be said for "Jingle Bells" and "Winter Wonderland," while "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" has lovely harmonies and a sweet, old-fashioned feel. It's all a bit frothy, but that's not a bad thing during the Christmas season.

This little recording will please adults and children alike and is perfect for listening to in the car on holiday trips or as background music for family dinners during this festive season. It is a delight, and you should definitely get it for your family's Christmas collection and consider it for your holiday gift giving as well.
