This is a conversation between me and my friend, "L". We are both chilling in my room. It's warm out, sun is shining, and I just popped in a CD.
L: Hmmm, what is this?
Me: Guess!
L: Seriously, stop playing with me.
M: Okay, okay, let me give you a hint: it's about a boy, who's got no belly button and no memory to go along with it.
L: Kyle XY!!
M: Bingo. It's the original soundtrack. And let me tell you that this CD really does remind me of the show. The tracks are picked in such a way that there's definitely a flow to the music. It's not an emotional ride, acoustically speaking. I love putting the CD in and chilling and jamming it while working on some homework, hanging out with friends. Heck, you can play it to just about everything.
L: I see why you would say that. O.A.R. is one of my favorite bands and "Wonderful Day" is such an awesome song. It can pep up anybody who's in a bad mood. Typical of O.A.R's style, the song is unique with a mixture of jazz instruments, the up strum of a reggae guitar and lyrics that make you just want to dance, jump around and be crazy. Even now my foot's a-tapping.
M: Haha nice. The first time I heard Irving's "I'll Write The Song, You Sing For Me," I was like what is this? The composition of electric guitar and drums, giving it a techno-ish rock feel to it. You know how I like dance. But it&'s the lead singer's sultry, deep voice that gives me the shivers. Think Issac Hayes. It's a backward love song, in my opinion. With verses such as "If tomorrow evening/ is emotionally inconvenient/ then what a pleasure it has been/ to have spent this year with you" while topping it off with the words "I wish my brain had a map to tell me/ where my heart should go." However, it's the voice that draws you in, oh the voice! I'm in love.

Hmmm. I liked reading this quite a bit. I have absolutely no interest in this show, and probably even less in the music on this soundtrack. But the use of a conversation as literary device here drew me in instantly and held my interest throughout. I still doubt I'll be checking this soundtrack out, but enjoyed the writing here immensely. Very Nice Agnieszka.
