Music Review: Jack Ingram - This Is It

I love Jack Ingram. I just do. His music is so beautiful and amazing. His new CD This Is It is another must-have country CD.

The album has just captured my heart and he puts so much emotion into his singing. The guy should really been running Nashville at this point. I think I can just sit here for hours and hours and listen to his voice. He is incredibly talented. It’s no wonder why there’s not even one negative review for him on Amazon.

The CD — not even ten dollars on ITunes — comes with 9 beautiful tracks, two videos (one music video of “Lips of an Angel,” one behind-the scenes) and a digital booklet of the album. Honestly, the CD is worth every penny. The tracks include: “Measure of a Man,” “Hold On,” “Lips of an Angel,” “Wherever You Are,” “Love You,” “Easy as 1,2,3 (Part II),” “Ava Adele,” “Make a Wish (Coming Home Again),” “Great Divide,” “Don’t Want to Hurt,” “Make She’ll Get Lonely,” and “All I Can Do.” I like every track.

“Love You” definitely ‘out-countries’ them all and is arguably one of the better songs on this album. This is one of those songs that I could listen to obsessively for like an hour straight. I might actually just do that. This is really a wonderful song and easily one of my favorites on this album.

But my all-time favorite song on this album is “Maybe She’ll Get Lonely.” It’s so great, full of passion and energy. It just captures my attention. I love it. I love it so much. Here’s what Jack had to say about the song, “When it gets to the point that you have no control over what somebody else does, and really we are always at that point, the only thing you can hope for is that the other person will come back around. Really this fool should have said all of this stuff before she left, but that’s the way these things always seem to go.”

The CD comes with a music video for the song “Lips of an Angel.” The music video is so good. The song is a story — that is the beauty of country music — and the music video really does the song and the story justice. Jack is getting married when he gets a phone call from his other girl. Aw, it’s so beautiful.

Jack Ingram is an up-and-coming country artist. He’s touring with Martina McBride and Chris Young this summer. Stay tuned when Blogcritics covers the August 10th Jack Ingram concert in Kelseyville, CA and for an interview with this featured artist.
