If you are adventurous with your ears you could do far worse than to check this lot out. It’s a good idea to take them up on their offer, after all they insist.
Seizure Crypt: Under the Gun
This lot are from New York City so they have all the attitude you would expect. With a reputation of naming their tours things like Bring Your Shit and Fuck Pay to Play you know that there is a certain amount of angst to be had on here. It's punk-trash mixed with a bit of a punkabily sensibility with its twirling guitar lines that are almost catchy. They make a big thing about this being recorded with no-overdubs or artificial enhancements and that is pretty clear from the recording. Like early LPs this is a warts and all album.
You just know this captures the band’s live sound as good as anything short of a truly live record. While fans of the band would probably complain the recording does not reflect the live experience. I suspect that the tracks on here pretty much sum up their live attitude and angst. To complete the New York experience the CD was recorded on Coney Island. And what a ride it is. If you like a touch of raucous punky thrash rock that is about as genuine as it gets then you could do far worse that this release.
