Almost sounding like a Neil Young composure, “We Will No Be Machines” was one of my favorite tracks on this disc. The folksy song really shows how diverse this album is. During the song they manage to mix up a little bit of old style with today’s rock. Coincidentally the band took their name from Neil Young’s After The Gold Rush.
Goldrush has appeared at the annual SXSW and made an impression on many. That impression is not even a scratch though on the popularity of Goldrush overseas. At one time Goldrush played with friends on a back of a truck in a field to friends. Years later that jam session had turned into the famous Truck Festival. If you have never heard of the Truck Festival think of it as a 2 Day Bonnaroo mixed with Coachella.
If you are into today’s indie rock or are a fan of the classic rock from the 70s you should check these guys out. This is a band you will be hearing a lot of if not already. Their sound is unique and a little on the experimental side. If you like the Doves, love The Flaming Lips, and have respect for Neil Young, then you need this CD in your collection. You will not be disappointed.
