This is the fifth CD from Ohio-based Everyday Sunday and it's guaranteed to be another hit. Set to release June 16, 2009, Best Night Of Our Lives shows Everyday Sunday using a more hard-hitting rock beat. Combined with high-energy vocals and much bolder lyrics, it almost guarantees that this will be a fan favorite.
They started as a house band for a church youth group in Columbus, Ohio, and consist of Trey Pearson, Nick Spencer, Kevin Cramblet and Tyler Craft. Lead singer Trey Pearson is the only original band member remaining.
The first song on the disc is the title track "Best Night of Our Lives" whose lyrics are about life-long friendships. This song is upbeat and has a driving bass that makes you want to dance around the room. Much of the CD has the same - great lyrics, driving beat and great vocals. The bass gives an almost frenetic energy to the songs. For the rest of the album, the energy is amazing and gives the album an almost pop-rock sound.
Other songs on the CD include "Breathing for Me", a pop anthem about surrendering to God's will. This song is fun and upbeat and is one that will probably become a favorite.
"Lies and Fears Go Hand in Hand" alternates a pop feel and hard driving rock sound. "Where I Ended" is another anthem, about being lost and then found - "lost and out there stranded, you picked up right where I ended". While it also has a rock feel, it's not as hard as some of the others.
One change from the pace of the album is the beautiful acoustic ballad "Here With Me". This song about faith and commitment, is a beautiful worship song. Starting out acoustic, this song is passionate and eventually evolves into full band accompaniment.
