I really see no appeal in this music.
It is repetitive, typical, and just...boring. The lyrics have no substance and the music sounds like a
very bad clashing of commercial garbage rock and pop.
Its like a very nasaly beatles album and a Rites of Spring album clashed terribly in the middle of some extremely crowded mall.
Telegraph sucked as well. It was not "Dark" whatsoever. Joy Division was dark... this is just... fake.
I praise the reveiwer for calling out this soul sucking money scheme of an album. This music is for five year olds... just like Evanescence*flee*

i think drake has good voice and he has written all his own songs - why shouldn't he be able to rite about what he wants? although, i agree that is sounds NOTHING like the beatles,and its insulting and disrespectful that he compares himself to them! anyway, if he happy, then whatever. if it doesnt make us happy, then we dont have to listen to it? right?

Wow, are you ever full of shit. This CD is wonderful. I have my doubts that you even gave it a careful listen, based on some of the mistakes you made in your review. Try harder next time.

Any people that are anti-Drake are jealous, that boy has EVERYTHING going for him. Hes a hit with the ladies (myself included) hes got a stunning voice, brilliant guitar skills, excellent songwriting talent & his albums rock, my fave song is 'I KNOW'.

has anyone thought about the other songs that haven't been mentioned yet ? What about songs like I Know, Fool The World, and the 4 song medley at the end, an admitted homage to the B-Side of The Beatle's Abbey Road, forming a narration about the ups-and-downs in 3 different relationships: Fallen For You, Rusted Silhouette, Break Me Down, and End It Good. So it's not just happy songs, there are some deep and dark ones as well. There is NOONE, and I mean NOONE at the moment in the music business that makes music the way Drake Bell does at his age. He's a great talent. And, no, it won't be his last. He's got to get an Outstanding Contribution To Music Award first, just like one of his biggest influences, from The Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney did, and a knighhood. Because, believe me, this guy is going to be one of the greatest musicians ever. And I mean that seriously. He, like his music, will be remembered for a very long time, because he's going to be going for a very long time. Believe me on that one.

and the tunes may be as put "happy happy" but if you take time to really listen to the words and the messages
its pretty deep!

Up Periscope being an 8 year olds' song?
Have you even read the lyrics?
I know kids are being exposed to more and more these days but the entire song is about sex.
I quote..."when you're creeping out of bed I sneak a peek to see just what you were wearing last night or what was leftover from ripping off our clothes. I check to see that door was closed
as you were turning out the lights"
If that is something an 8 year old is listening to there is obviously a bigger problem here.
Second off...
His music is all 'happy-happy' because the man was in a fatal car accident. He was lucky to be alive, let alone to be writing a second album, and to be singing it and performing it today. You cant blame a man for being happy he's still here to tell his tale and doing what he has a passion for doing.
And lastly I might add that the people who get the spotlight in today's media aren't people like Drake with an amazing amount of talent. No, its the rich snobs who dont even write their own songs let alone play an instrument. Drake has a passion for what he does and loves it with all his heart. He will DEFINITELY continue to write and perform more music, because that is what he does best.
Drake has a million times more talent than anyone else in this business and he deserves so much more credit than anyone has ever given him. If people like you would stop writing nasty and false things about him he might be more known.
Oh, and next time you write a "review"...

I just got "It's Only Time" two days ago and I'm hooked on it. I am not a teeny bopper. I'm a 21 year old college student working on my 3rd degree.
The only music that gets any credit in the industry recently is angst-ridden, "I'm gonna go slit my wrists" music. It is sad that when someone makes an album that is happy, credits have to bash it. The cd is great when you want to feel HAPPY. I don't need music that makes me sad all the time. It is a great cd listen to with the windows rolled down while "drumming" on the steering wheel and driving down the road.

drake bell is one of my favorite artists. i don't see why people can't look at his songs in more depth and see that the lyrics actually have a meaning and that the melody of all the songs are really catchy. to me, i don't think it matters if he starred on nick... if his music is good, i give him credit.

That was truly harsh. I own both of Drake Bell's albums as well as mp3s of "The Nashville Sessions" and love everything I have heard. His second album is much more upbeat than the first and he came right out and said that after his (what could have easily been fatel) car crash It's Only Time was an album meant to make you feel good in a world that often leaves people down and without hope. I think he is doing a wonderful job and look forward to the third album which is due out in early 2009. Drake's music takes the listener back to a time when artisit didn't scream obcene lyric stictly for shock value, a time when the music meant something and you could not only hear the singer over the music, but you were also able to understand the lyrics. Yes, It's Only Time has a classic pop vibe, but whats wrong with that? I grew up listening to everything from The Beatles to NoFX to Pantera (and everything inbetween) and I think Drake has a lovely balence of old school class and tap your foot pop. He's not afraid to go where his peers won't, to fight the on slaught loud guitar riffs and heavy bass lines with melodic tunes and five part harmonies, and he should be applauded for that alone.
But this is a free country, and you have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to disagree.
All I have left to say is, Drake, keep doing what you're doing! You're an incredable musician and THATS why we love you!
