Music Review: Bang! Bang! - The Dirt That Makes You Down - Page 2

The biggest problem with this album is that it can be a bit harsh to listen to all the way through. Their heavy, driving rhythms can become numbing as time goes by. I’m sure they’d kill live, but you’d need to right setting for this album, it’s not the kind of album you want to throw on just as background music, this is mosh around music whose energy pretty much demands total commitment. I’m not always a fan of this kind of music, but they’ve got enough tonal and sonic variety to distinguish themselves from just straightforward punk, with the synths and drums occasionally adding some dance rhythms to keep things fresh. This is an aggressive, fun album and it’s certainly worth a look. I’d love to see them perform in concert because these kind of high energy songs always go over great with an enthusiastic crowd.
