I’m pretty sure that I heard that in bed. Dave, although often strict, was never in my opinion an ass to the Chipmunks, he just wanted the best for his rodents. They make him sound unbearable and abusive. The song is a modern take on “Christmas Don't Be Late,” but it pales in comparison because of the awkward lyrics and un-playful banter.
I don’t understand why the producers think that all the children suffer from attention deficit disorder. The order of the album is everywhere. Tempos, styles, and messages bleed into each other and cause confusion. It was smart to start off with the remix of the old television show’s opening “We’re the Chipmunks” and although the original is included in the album, I don’t understand why that is not the last bonus track because it would have rounded out the album. Since “Livin’ on a Prayer” is supposed to be live with audience cheers in the background, they say “goodnight” at the end, simulating a concert, but the song is third. Again songs like “Home” and “Don’t Stop Believing” could be a perfect ending to this album, but (not counting bonuses) they end with “Undeniable” which should be second because it helps explain the chipmunk story. The different genres can become jarring for a listener and the order doesn't help.
Although Undeniable is a decent album for children, it’s everywhere, with Rap, Rock, Pop, Dance, Christmas, Disco, and Halloween all represented. The 80s theme song “We’re the Chipmunks” is a great bonus for connecting parents with children, but overall as an adult I would pass.
