Music Review: 30 Top Christian Artistes - WOW HITS 2011

WOW Hits series, the multi-platinum winning music project created through the partnership between the three largest Christian music/entertainment companies in the industry, including EMI Christian Music Group, Provident Music Group, and Word Entertainment stormed out recently with WOW Hits 2011.

With 11 #1s, 6 top 5, and 9 top 10 Christian radio songs, WOW Hits 2011 is the 16th two-disc release that offers the best Christian songs at a "cost-cutting" ideal.

To be quite honest, I have always had a blasé view about erstwhile editions for some time now, until the last two compilations.

The earlier ones kind-of lacked a definitive theme and connectivity; rather they came across as half-baked productions. Not because the artistes failed to deliver but something just never clicked.

It looks like the producers have been listening to feedbacks, and this time there's such a renewed respect and anticipation for them.

In the last three years including this current WOW Hits 2011, the themes and messages have remained focused and worthy of the title!

Musically, this series has also rehearsed the true essence of why it is a hit title. With the melodic nuances shifting sprightly between the steadily progressive rock to delectable and thoughtful pop rhythms, or the smooth paced hip-hop, giving way to a mandolin infused praise. Every part gelled!

Featuring 30 songs on two CDs, the WOW Hits 2011 arrangement provides Christian music fans hit songs from today’s top Christian artists including Casting Crowns ’“Until The Whole World Hears,” TobyMac’s Get Back Up,” Francesca Battistelli’sBeautiful Beautiful,” Third Day’sBorn Again,” Natalie Grant’s “The Greatness Of Our God,” Passion’s (Featuring Chris Tomlin)Our God,” Tenth Avenue North’s Healing Begins,”NEEDTOBREATHE’SLay ‘Em Down,” Brandon Heath’s “Love Never Fails,” Sidewalk Prophets’ “The Words I Would Say,” and Matthew West’s brand new single “My Own Little World”,” Newsboys’ in “Born Again,”. With newer injection of artistes alternated with the regular ensembles[though the list ought to be more than thirty in my own opinion] that make the line-up annually this series includes the likes of Chris August,Jonny Diaz, Mikeschair, and Kerrie Roberts.

I thank God everyday for these powerfully anointed songs and music our Lord has given these men and women. Worship songs keep me going thru all the trials of life they help me to stay focused and strengthened. Many are the afflictions of the righteous (made right because of the payment Jesus made for us on the Cross) but God delivers us out of them all.
