Noise Within - Prey for the Zealots
Noise Within have made their debut album available as a free download to anyone willing to give them a shot. I have downloaded it but have not yet listened to it. Although I have checked out the music in the widget below and like what I hear. It is pretty hard hitting and rock solid. I would not go so far as to call it great or original, but it does make me interested in the rest of the album. The LA based band is comprised of singer Boris Bouma (EPIDEMIC), bass player John "Tumor" Fahnestock (SNOT, AMEN, LO-PRO), guitarist Aaron Slipp (PRONG) and drummer Tommy Sickles (NOTHINGFACE).

Antagonist on The Price is Right
Carlos Garcia, frontman for Antagonist, appeared as a contestant on the November 10th edition of The Price is Right. The episode was recorded in September while the band was on tour behind their debut album Exist. They decided to spend a day at a recording of the show when Garcia was called down as a contestant, winning his bid and winning in his game on stage. Here is the video:
Satyricon - "Black Crow on a Tombstone"
I have heard some of Satyricon's work over the years and I don't think they are all that bad. This song is halfway decent, but the video strikes me as being just a wee bit silly. For being a black metal band Satyr looks like he should be in a Judas Priest type band, definitely not looking the part here. The song is catchy and would not mind listening to it again, just not interested in watching this again.
Cattle Decapitation - The Harvest Floor Widget
Cattle Decapitation, just have to love that name. Here is a band that just gives the finger to mainstream acceptance. Seriously, could you imagine tuning into a top 40 station and hear them announce Cattle Decapitation? I know little about these guys, but the little I have heard is definitely intriguing. I believe this would be classified as grind? Please let me know, these genre definitions always escape me. Anyway, the widget has a song, "A Body Farm," photos, album info, and studio reports. The album is due on January 20th, just in time for the inauguration.
