Architects - "Early Grave"

The Architects have a new album arriving January 26, 2009 from Century Media records. The new album is entitled Hollow Crown and "Early Grave" is the first single and video to be spawned. The music is pretty brutal, heavy, and has a nice technical edge. However, I am not all that crazy about the vocals. I have heard worse, much worse. While there really isn't anything wrong with them, they just don't stand out.

Sepultura - "Dead Embryonic Cells"

Arise was a landmark album in my developing taste for metal. I went into the music store with the intention of buying an album with a twisted cover. This one fit the bill. "Dead Embryonic Cells" is one of the better tracks on what turned out to be an excellent album. If you love metal or are even interested in it, this is an album to get your hands on if you haven't already.

Gwar - Interview with Oderus Urungus

This is pretty darn funny. Whether you like Gwar or not, Dave Brockie (who portrays Oderus) is an entertaining dude. I have seen these guys live once and it was a hell of a show, complete with decapitations, disemboweling, and plenty of random fluids spewed onto the crowd. The music isn't half bad either. This interview talks about their plans for the future, the next album, and a major anniversary.
