Misfits - "Dig Up Her Bones"
Having just seen the Misfits a few days back, I decided to look up some Misfits on YouTube and came across this video from the late 1990s during the Michale Graves era. The song comes from their American Psycho release and features the band in fine form.
Evile - "Thrasher"
I have only just heard of Evile by looking at the supposedly gruesome photo of the band's guitar payer's chin laceration suffered from an unexplained blackout. It was nothing special, but alongside was the video for the band's cut "Thrasher." The song is nothing particularly special, but it has a crisp speedy sound that reminds me of ...And Justice For All era Metallica. On top of that, the video is very reminiscent of the band only version of Metallica's "One" clip. That kind of sucks away any originality that could have been here. Still, it is a fun, fast cut.
Trivium - "Insurrection" and "Becoming the Dragon" (live)
The below footage was captured during the European Unholy Alliance tour, headlining Slayer. I find it amusing how the best Metallica album in years wasn't recorded by Metallica. Oh, I kid, I kid. But not for nothing as much as I want to like Death Magnetic, the production is terrible and I can't stand listening to it. Anyway, Trivium has actually made a pretty good comeback with their latest album, it is a step up from Crusade, although I still prefer Ascendancy. This live performance is actually pretty good.

Hey Chris, didn't I recommend Psycroptic to you like, at least, a year ago?
I have to give credit to Jason Peppiatt for stepping outside the box & introducing, what seems to me, some Hardcore influences with his vocals. You may not be used to it but they aren't horrible.
What's not to like about the tone of the guitar? I think Joe Haley has chosen a very clean & distinctive sound which is hard to find nowadays in Metal. BUT, I also feel that because of the wave of technical metal bands that that was a particular sound that was favored. Necrophagist uses something similar.
Anyways, It was nice to see you include them in your round-up....

Thanks for the intro to Evile BUT...Come on, Man! That song is pretty damn good for oldschool influenced Thrash. And, all you could come up with is a reference to Metallica. How much Thrash have you listened to?? There is some definite Slayer and Exodus influences ,plus, the singer kinda sounds like Billy Milano(S.O.D.). Again, thanks for the heads up!
