The journey into music videos (and other bits) continues its mission to deliver something worthy of your time, perhaps introducing you to something new along the way.
This week I continue compiling videos and various musical related tid-bits for your viewing pleasure. Some will be brand spanking new, while others will just be things I like. I am not great with timeliness, but I hope you've been enjoying these video collections.
Scott Weiland - "Missing Cleveland"
Scott Weiland recently released a new solo album, his first since parting ways with Velvet Revolver. The album is called Happy in Galoshes and the new single is "Missing Cleveland." The song has a nice flow to it, not terribly rocky, but not bad. I think the biggest problem with it is that it sounds like David Bowie should be singing. The further into the video I got, the more I expected an appearance from Major Tom.
Nightmare - "Wicked White Demon"
Back in June, French metal act Nightmare played Hellfest. Below is a video from that performance. If you look quickly it looks like the band is fronted by Ronnie James Dio! I kind of liked the crunchy guitar sound, but cannot say that I care for the song all that much.
Psycroptic - "Initiate"
Hailing from Australia, Psycroptic offer up an interesting sound. Listening to this song, the first I have ever heard from them, I find much to like and dislike. First off, the guitar tone sounds weird, I don't care for it, then there are the vocals which are just awful. As for the good, the kick drum is insane and the guitar playing is impressive. The video is also pretty cool. I am interested in checking out more, although I am not sure I would go out of my way.
Into Eternity - "Time Immemorial"
This is a very cool song and a strong video. The song is fast, brutal, heavy, and highly technical. There is a lot to like about this Canadian band and I hope to get the chance to see them live. The song comes from their latest, The Incurable Tragedy. This is a band to keep on eye on as they seem primed to break out.

Hey Chris, didn't I recommend Psycroptic to you like, at least, a year ago?
I have to give credit to Jason Peppiatt for stepping outside the box & introducing, what seems to me, some Hardcore influences with his vocals. You may not be used to it but they aren't horrible.
What's not to like about the tone of the guitar? I think Joe Haley has chosen a very clean & distinctive sound which is hard to find nowadays in Metal. BUT, I also feel that because of the wave of technical metal bands that that was a particular sound that was favored. Necrophagist uses something similar.
Anyways, It was nice to see you include them in your round-up....

Thanks for the intro to Evile BUT...Come on, Man! That song is pretty damn good for oldschool influenced Thrash. And, all you could come up with is a reference to Metallica. How much Thrash have you listened to?? There is some definite Slayer and Exodus influences ,plus, the singer kinda sounds like Billy Milano(S.O.D.). Again, thanks for the heads up!
