Bret Michaels - Rock My World
I remember when Bret Michaels was on top of the world as the lead singer of upper echelon hair band Poison. I admit to liking them at the time, but now just enjoy the nostalgia more than the music. Well, Michaels has made a big return to the public eye with his VH1 dating show, Rock of Love, and now he is in the midst of a solo tour as well as prepping the release of a solo album. Is it going to be any good? I cannot believe it will be, as the first track off of it isn't all that impressive.

Def Leppard - "Pour Some Sugar on Me"
Having recently checked out the latest Def Leppard release, I got the desire to look up some old videos. Doing a quick search on YouTube turned up the UK version of the classic "Pour Some Sugar on Me," a video I do not recall ever seeing before. It is just a little different than the US version. You can see both below:
Hacride - "Perturbed (live)"
Ever heard of Hacride? No? Me neither, and please don't ask how to pronounce it, I have no idea. I am not sure if I like them or not, but I am definitely intrigued by this act hailing from France. The sound a bit like a cross between Gojira and Meshuggah. The song is very heavy and has a nice blend of clipped, percussion-esque riffs and open chords ala Gojira. I am going to have to look into these guys...
Gojira - In the Studio
If you know me in the "real" world, you'll likely have heard me expressing some love for Gojira. After I first heard them live last fall on the fantastic From Mars to Sirius, I fell in love with their sound. Granted, I have not yet picked up their earlier releases, but I'll get around to it. Anyway, the French act is in the studio working on a new album that they say is "more intense, more brutal, and more melodic." I can't wait. Here is a clip of them playing in the studio:

I like the UK video for "Pour Some Sugar On Me" much better than the American version. It shows off the humorous side of Def Lep that most people never understood.
I must disagree with your comment that Poison was an "upper echelon hair band." They had, maybe, two or three songs that are worthwhile, that's it. Of course, I'm simply speaking about personal opinion. Certainly from a popularity standpoint they were a hit.
Brett Michaels is a pompous, vacuous moron, though, and thus limited their longevity. Well, that and CC's drug problems and general stupidity. And Rocket's totally useless drumming. And who was the other guy, anyway?
Hatebreed rocks.

Hey Gray!
I was mainly referring to their popularity with the mainstream (poison). I liked them, but they were not my favorites.
(the other guy was Bobby Dall)
Hatebreed just keeps getting better, I think adding a guitar player helped them.

Yea.. I would have to agree with Gray. Poison barely had a great first album though I understood what you meant. They had nothing on Shotgun Messiah if ya wanna talk about Glam Rock. For me, an "upper echelon hair band" would've been RATT!
BUT, Bret Michaels latest release is not only unimpressive but the biggest piece of sh!te I have ever heard in my life. I can't believe I wrote off Paul Stanley's latest effort so quickly. At least his album sounded like it had real musician's playing on it.
