The journey into music videos (and other bits) continues its mission to deliver you something worthy of your time, perhaps introducing you to something new along the way.
This week I continue compiling videos and various musical related tidbits for your viewing pleasure. Some will be brand spanking new, while others will just be things that I like. I am not great with the timeliness yet, but I hope you've been enjoying these video collections.
The majority of the videos will fall in the metal realm, as that is where my primary musical interests lie. My tastes definitely extend beyond metal, but as I read on a forum once: "My tastes may have broadened as I have gotten older, but metal will always be my first love."
In any case, read on and enjoy!
Dethklok - "Hatredcopter"
This is a fan-made video for the Dethklok track "Hatredcopter." Now, if you don't know Dethklok, do yourself a favor and get acquainted. It is pretty funny stuff, complete with decent music.
Soulfly - "Prophecy (live)"
This video is from a 2005 concert in Poland and is part of the bonus DVD for Soulfly's latest release, Conquer. It is a cool song with a strong performance here. I have seen Soulfly live a few times, but not for many years, and each time I saw them they just got better and better.
Blackmore's Night - "Locked Within the Crystal Ball"
I've never paid much attention to Ritchie Blackmore. Not out for any particular reason, I just never did. That said, the man is a helluva guitar player. This song is pretty good, reminds me a bit of Nightwish. It has a folksy sort of feel to it, and is pretty catchy, plus it has a nice, smooth solo in the middle. This is the first single from the upcoming Blackmore's Night album, Secret Voyage.
Poisonblack - "Bear the Cross"
Poisonblack hail from Finland and are fronted by former Sentenced vocalist Ville Laihiala. This is the first I've heard Poisonblack, and they remind me of Sentenced, if a touch darker in overall sound. I like it. The song comes from their forthcoming album A Dead Heavy Day. The cover art and track list are also below.
