Music is an integral part of the Christmas holiday. Of course, it is very easy to get sick of hearing the traditional tunes over and over again. I know I do. So, I have tried to get a couple of tunes that many of you may not have heard of, or at least in this fashion. Hopefully, it will prove worthy of spending some time with over the course of the busy holiday.
Bing Crosby and David Bowie - "Little Drummer Boy"
Here is a great clip from 1977 featuring two all time greats singing a Christmas classic together on a Christmas television special. It is definitely an odd combination, but it is one that worked out beautifully for this duet.
The Beatles - "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"
Honestly, I am not sure where this clip is from, but it is pretty good. It is a rocking Christmas tune that will inspire good will and head bobbing as it bounces along. It is not a video, but the audio is pretty good quality.
Zakk Wylde - "White Christmas"
This is pretty wild. Zakk Wylde is one of those guitar players who can melt your face with an insane solo, but he also has a mellow side, demonstrated by this clip of him performing "White Christmas." Now, I am not positive it is him, but I would not have a hard time believing it, either way it sounds pretty sweet.
Twisted Sister - "Heavy Metal Christmas" (live in studio)
Here is a song destined to be a landmark for metalheads everywhere. Okay, perhaps not, but there is no denying the entertainment value to be found in Twisted Sister's interpretation of "The 12 Days of Christmas."
