Music DVD Review: Decapitated, Nashville Pussy, Society1, Vision of Disorder, and Onslaught - Page 2

Part of: Marty's Musical Meltdown

The band are off on a huge tour at the moment so there is no excuse not to catch them properly live. A must for their rabid fans, but the quality of the sound might make it easier to like for the rest of us.

Earache: Immortilised the DVD & I-crusher Complete

To celebrate 24 years of Earache up until 2000 from 1986, this is a collection of some of their most extreme videos. Featuring all their major acts, this is a grab bag compilation of material from everyone from Gandalf to the classic “Heartwork” from the might Carcass. There are all kinds of live clips and extras as well.

With name like Earache those of you who don’t know the label will probably guess that they specialize in the heaviest and some of the most extreme stuff going. If you want to know where some of the really out there stuff came from then this would be a great intro into the dark world of the darkest of metal. Just check out Entombed’s “Wolverine Blues” or Morbid Angel’s “God of Emptiness.”

The iCrusher “complete” collection is what it says on the tin. A double DVD of the iCrusher 1 & 2. This collection is a lot longer and has a running time of a full 200 minutes. You even get 11 bonus audio tracks for Earaches catalogue. From the uber-heavy to the more melodic, it's all on here. The collection truly reflects the diversity that is metal in this new century. Among the clips are live videos from bands like Carcass, The Haunted, and Napalm Death.

Starting off with goth troll Mortiis with his great track “Parasite God” heading all the way to oddness of the awesome Ephel Duath with “The Embossed”, you know it will be a varied ride. Bonuses include a couple of videos with Matt Zane of Society1 and an in the studio with December.

This might be just the thing for the yer favourite metal-head come this Christmas season. There is something on here for every metal-head you can possibly think of. Great stuff with lots of goodies to keep you interested all through the winter.

Society1: Fearing the Exit

Those of you who have never heard of this lot are in for a treat or something that might scare the bejezus out of you. Matt Zane and company are a bunch of nutters that make Marlyn Manson look like the Alice Cooper wanna-be; he truly is. Instead of just pretending to do extreme things they actually do them. One of the videos on here depicts Matt being attached to four meat-hooks, through his back skin, and then hung up.
