After almost twenty-five years and millions of albums sold, Bon Jovi once again proves with this release that they have that something special. Lost Highway, the CD, hit store shelves back in June and climbed the charts to number one - not a first for this group, but something they hadn't experienced in awhile.
With Lost Highway, the band had once again tried something different. Jon went to the record company and asked them to put out the band's next album on their Nashville label instead of the usual imprint. Yes, Bon Jovi went country, with the boys heading down to Nashville to collaborate with country songwriters and artists. It paid off - Lost Highway hit number one around the world.
Bon Jovi Lost Highway: The Concert is an outgrowth of that album. Recorded live in Chicago, the DVD shows Bon Jovi doing something they hadn't done before: playing an album from track one straight through to the end, live in concert. Jon said it was something he had wanted to do for past albums, and when he was approached to do this DVD he made singing the album uninterrupted a part of the deal.
For nearly an hour and a half we are taken into the story of the lost highway. We learn some of what went on behind the scenes during the making of the record, and most important, we are able to bring Bon Jovi right into our living rooms. If you're a fan of this group, you know they are best known for their live performances. Whether playing to an intimate group of a few hundred or a stadium of 100,000, front man Jon Bon Jovi knows how to work a crowd. He is a showman and a performer who prides himself on singing live with no lip synching. Lost Highway thrives in this intimate environment, hooking you from the very beginning.
