New New York Regulations to Allow Smart Phone Betting

New regulations in New York starting January 22nd will let people place bets via electronic platforms such as the internet on horse racing. Sona Mobile are planning on selling software that will make to easier to bet from mobile phones.

FCC Might Require Radio Play of Indie Bands

The FCC is currently reviewing a proposal that would require radio stations to include spots for independently produced tracks. The proposal is internal and is thought to be a measure to help level the playing field after the recent payola scandals. No details about the proposal have been released.

Arcade Fire Sell Out in UK

The Arcade Fire have sold out their UK tour hours after the tickets went on sale. The band has extended their stay at London’s Brixton Academy because of demand. The tour will take the band elsewhere in Europe including Copenhagen, Lille, Berlin and Brussels. The Arcade Fire will be releasing its second full length album in March.
