How is it possible for a teen sensation to make such an impact on an aging baby moomer’s life? Revisiting a theme which I’ve touched upon in a few previous Blogcritic posts in regards to Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, it’s my opinion that it’s possible because of an artist’s “resonance.”
Resonance is connection – connecting one to another by means of a message, delivered from, and received into, the heart – a message that transcends time, space, age, gender, socioeconomic status. Artistry is about relating to one another beyond everyday existence. It’s dimensional; perhaps, multi-dimensional; maybe spiritual. I just know it’s real.
A little science about resonance: Resonant phenomena occur with all types of vibrations or waves. There is mechanical resonance, acoustic resonance, electromagnetic resonance, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron spin resonance (ESR), and quantum wave resonance. When one thing is resonating with another thing, it means it is acting in the same way as the other. If the first object is vibrating at a specific frequency, the second object must match that same frequency in order to resonate with it. When things or people are in close proximity, they will begin to sync up over periods of time, like a group of women who live together will start having their menstrual cycle at the same time each month. In the same way, whatever it is we are wanting in our lives, we eventually match up to and find. If we are looking for trouble, we find it. If we are looking for answers, we find them. This is because our very thoughts have much more power than most of us even realize!
At this very moment, I’m reading Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. His premise is that thoughts are able to become actualized. Every thought we think is an electrical impulse with its own vibration, and since vibrations and frequencies eventually sync up, whatever is foremost in our mind and emotions is what we experience. This goes for our worries and fears, as well as our hopes and dreams.
