This is creepy music that rises above the normal soundtrack fare. Then again there is no real shock here; I can't remember hearing anything done by MS that was not the utmost quality. You need creepy music for any occasion you can't go wrong with this release.
Eddy Grant: Reparation
Yes that Eddy Grant, he of "Electric Avenue," is back with a greatest hits package and a short tour of the UK. His first gig is playing the huge Nelson Mandela gig this weekend in London as well as Glastonbury in a few weeks. All his hits on here as you would expect reminding you of his talent. Rather than just being pop pap of the '80s this stuff does actually hold up over time.
You can relieve your horrid attempts at dancing with hits like "I don't Wanna Dance" and "Romancing the Stone." It's hard not to smile listening to this disc. Now if we can only get Eddy to release something new to give the manufactured pop music the kick up the arse it needs.
Well on that reggae-tinged poptastic note I will be off for this week. The babe and I are off to Def Leppard/Whitesnake on Thursday to celebrate the end of my chemo. With two cracking new albums out this should be a great gig. Needless to say there will be a review forthcoming next week together with some heavier selections.
Keep it safe and rocking as we head into the summer of 2008.
