Man electrocuted during Snoop set

CMU

26-year-old Ashley Faris was killed by an electric shock that he suffered on the stairs at a Snoop & Chilli Peppers gig in North Carolina on Friday. The
newlywed and soon-to-be graduate stepped onto the wet stairway that had metal edging and died immediately, a friend who tried to help him was also being treated for electric shock. The incident took place at the beginning of Snoop's set at 9:30, and the show continued with no public announcement
being made.

Venue owner Clear Channel Communications would not comment on the death,
citing an ongoing investigation: "Unfortunately, Friday evening there was an
incident at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater-Charlotte resulting in a death and
an injury. We are working with local authorities and investigators to determine how the incident took place. The Verizon Wireless Amphitheater extends heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of the individuals involved in this unfortunate incident. The North Carolina Department of Labor will be looking to see if there was any faulty electrical wiring and will check to see if anyone knew about it and didn't do anything."

I knew Ashley Faris. And want to clear up a couple of things. Yes, there was faulty wiring on that particular staircase and yes, Verizon Wireless ampitheatre knew about it...for at least a week. The prior weekend during a James Taylor concert, 2 concertgoers complained of being 'shocked' while walking on this staircase. Fortunately for them, the weather was dry and they suffered no injuries. The city inspected it and told Verizon that there was a shortage in the lights illuminating the staircase and that it absolutely needed to be replaced immediately. However, Verizon did nothing. The night of this incident, Ashley was barefoot, along with 99% of the other patrons, due to a heavy downpour. Unfortunately, due to Verizon's negligence in fixing what was a simple problem, Ashley paid for it with his life. And those of us he left behind will always be grateful to have known such a wonderful person. Peace and love forever, Ash. And Verizon...rot in hell.

The word 'electrocuted' is spelled e-l-e-c-t-r-o-c-u-t-e-d.

    Barefoot, Robin? That's contributory negligence.

Hey, Mac Diva. The next time someone you love is killed through the fault of someone else, give me a call. I'll be more than happy to pour salt into your open wounds as I blame them for their own death. Jerk.
