Mamapalooza anyone?

The AP is reporting the rise of Mom-bands, rock bands whose members are mothers. With names like Housewives on Prozac and Frump you can tell they are planning to have a lot of fun. Starting in May there will be an event called Mamapalooza touring certain cities in the US including Nashville and San Francisco. Hell there have been rocker fathers since rock music began, so why not rocker moms? Sod what Grace Slick has to say, you are never to old to rock & roll!

Thanks for the shout out for mom bands. Check out my mom band, Placenta (we'd like to think we are the bad grrrls of mom rock) at http://www.placentamusic.com
We're starting a monthly mom musician night (complete with childcare, natch) and calling it Mothers' Liberation Front. Meeting at the Starry Plough in Berkeley, California Feb 22nd is the kick off, with a performance by Placenta--beign taped by a TV crew, oh yeh.
