On June 23rd, Gary Numan is releasing Jagged Edge, an alternative version of 2006’s Jagged. Jagged Edge will be a double album clocking in at over an hour and a half. Keeping busy this year, on top of plenty of touring, Numan also has a coffee table book in the works, celebrating 30 years of music, from Tubeway Army onward.
Famed 90’s alternative rockers The Offspring and back with their 8th studio album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, set to be released on June 17th. The first single from the album, “Hammerhead,” has already hit the airwaves, and is available as a free download on the band’s official site.
On June 3rd, folk-pop icon Jewel is going country with her latest album, Perfectly Clear. When asked about the new genre, Jewel had this to say:
"I've been writing country songs my whole career; some of the songs on this record date back to when I was 18 years old. I've been hanging on to them until now. They were meant for a record like this one."
Now signed to an independent label, this will be the singer/songwriter’s seventh studio album
Alanis Morissette is releasing her Flavors of Enlightenment, the artist’s first album to sport an electronic dance atmosphere. You can pre-order the Limited Edition release, which includes 5 bonus songs and 6 art cards, but the run is limited to 1,000 copies, so get them while you can. The album is due out on June 2nd internationally, but everyone in the US will have to wait until June 10th
Journey has returned with Revelations, a massive 3 disc album. Disc 1 features 11 new tracks, while disc 2 boasts re-recorded favorites. I’ve got the track list here:
