Looking Forward: Guns N Roses, Ladytron, The Cure, and More.

Part of: Looking Forward

Ladytron’s 4th album, Velocifero, is due out in early June. Pre-order the 7” single, "Ghosts", with the album and your record will be signed by Ladytron.

Neil Diamond will be supporting his new Album, Home Before Dark (set to release in early May), with a US Tour. For dates and samples of songs from the new album, visit the official website.

Goth rock icons The Cure have pushed forward the date of their still untitled 13th studio album. Originally planned for a Fall release, now you can look forward to it as early as May 6th. Keyboard player Roger O'Donnell left the band last year, but original guitarist Porl Thompson is on board again, an addition frontman Robert Smith believes will give the band back it’s rock edge.

Heavy metal bad boys Judas Priest will be releasing their long-anticipated concept album, Nostradamus, on June 17th. Containing 18 tracks, the double album clocks in at over 90 minutes. In an unusual twist, the album includes symphonic orchestrations and synths, a first for the band.

Gavin Rossdale, best known as the frontman for Bush and husband of Gwen Stefani, will release his first solo record, Wanderlust, on June 3rd. The first single, “Love Remains The Same,” has already dropped.

In similar news, Scott Weiland, Stone Temple Pilots and former Velvet Revolver frontman, is working on his second solo album, tentatively scheduled for a Fall release. Joining him in the effort is No Doubt drummer, Adrian Young. STP has reunited and will be touring extensively this spring and summer.

Chinese Democracy, the hugely anticipated album from Guns N Roses, has been in the making for almost 15 years and is swimming in controversy. Now it looks like the album will finally see the light of day, and that day may be sometime in mid-September. With many release rumors over the years, and corresponding disappointments, it’s difficult to tell how much hype the band will be able to garner this time. Many songs have leaked, but with only 7 confirmed tracks, it isn’t certain if those leaks will actually make the album. Chinese Democracy includes contributions from Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, Dave Navarro, Brian May, and even Shaquille O'Neal, among many other musicians and producers.

That's it for this week's edition of Looking Forward.

The new Judas Priest sounds pretty cool considering their age. If the album is anything like the title track it should be pretty decent & it kinda reminds me of Iced Earth. Funny enough seeing where Tim Owens went after his tenure.
