Has this site degenerated into people schilling for 3rd string indie bands and 4th string hardcore.com labels?

Hey, 3rd string indie bands and 4th string hardcore.com labels need love too.

I guess we all need love. The point I was poorly trying to make was that I liked checking this site to find out about new and unheralded bands and performers, not to be forced more of the obvious pap that I can find on any more commercial site. I mean, I love hardcore, metal, indie, punk, hip hip and lots of other stuff, and I was a little harsh on that hardcore site (even though it was really weak), but pushing a Vagrant band? That label is huge, they don't need any help. Is it that A&R people just post the stuff they're paid to push on here? Or is it out of love/respect for the band? Cause if it's all about true love, I should have kept my trap shut.

Real Dude, Every blogcritic makes his or her own decisions and acts autonomously. You may be drawn to the work of some more than others. It is the eclecticism that makes us rich - metaphorically that is.
I have found that regular readers tend to find writers they like best, always read those, and perhaps skim the rest.
Another issue is news vs reviews: since we do both, not every mention of an album or artist is necessarily going to be filled with pithy commentary. Sometimes we are just telling the world about something without passing judgment either way, especially if there is something of note just out and the writer hasn't had time to review it yet, or whatever.
