Lollapalooza will return this year to Chicago for a three day stint in Grant Park. A majority of the lineup has now been announced, including the previously named Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wilco, and Kanye West. Also performing this year will be The Raconteurs, Death Cab for Cutie, Queens of the Stone Age, Sleater-Kinney, Sonic Youth, The Flaming Lips, Dresden Dolls, Coheed and Cambria, Blues Traveler, The New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, and more.
New York Doll due out next month
Greg Whiteley’s documentary about New York Dolls bassist Arthur “Killer” Kane is set to be released on April 4th. The film chronicles Kane’s later life, including the Dolls 2004 reunion and following through to his death. A bonus feature on the DVD is an interview with Morrissey who was the curator at the Meltdown Festival at which the New York Dolls played their reunion show.
International child pornography ring cracked
U.S. and Canadian authorities have said that they cracked an international child pornography ring that transmitted molestations live over the internet. 27 people from the Unites States, Britain, Australia and Canada have been charged with possession, distribution, receipt, and manufacturing of child pornography. One of the cases involved the abuse of a toddler under 18 months old.
