Live 8 officially announced. Concerts will take place in at least five cities: Philadelphia, London, Paris and Berlin. The concerts are meant to raise awareness of extreme poverty around the world, especially in Africa in hopes of pressuring World leaders to take a serious stance on the issue at the G8 summit to be held the following week.
