Limewire connected to cases of identity theft
LimeWire, the file-sharing software, has been found to connect to a number of cases of identity theft. A warning has been issued by the Denver District Attorney to users of the software about the potential threat. The D.A. is investigating cases where the software may have been used to gain access to sensitive data.
Microsoft targeting eBay pirates
Microsoft has announced that it will be filing charges against people in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany among other countries for selling pirated copies of Microsoft software on eBay and similar online auction sites. Microsoft says that many of the people they are taking legal action against had previously received previous warnings to stop.
Sonic Youth reveal rarities tracklist
Sonic Youth has announced the complete track list of the upcoming rarities release. The album The Destroyed Room: B-Sides and Rarities will have twelve tracks including three previously unreleased tracks. The tracks span the band’s whole career and contains material from the Alice Cooper Tribute, The Pola X Soundtrack, and international releases of Sonic Nurse among others. As previously reported, the album will be released on December 12th.
