and what the hell is up with the term "African American." that's assuming that a person is from Africa (or lives in America) based on their darker skin color. we are WHITE as it is called and it is no less undeserving to call them BLACK. i mean that in no offensive, racial manner whatsoever. i'm sick of affirmative action bullshit where everything has to be kept so politically correct rather than equal. if i am called a cracker i will (and have) relatiate with a racial slur. i am fully supportive of equality but not special treatment.
affirmative action was, of course, necessary at one point. but now that opportunities are given to "minorities," why should universities still have racial requirements (for example)? the only difference between affirmative action and racial discrimination/partiality is that the former is legalized by the government.
